Where Have We Been? Impact on Health Care in the Community

Since the Inception in 2012 the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation has focused their funding on those items that will assist in advancing health care in Pawnee County. This fall the Foundation raised over $70,000 with funds from the Gala, the Golden Ticket and generous donations.     Here are a few projects that have been made possible by the PVCH Foundation and its gracious supporters since inception.

The Healing Garden -Completed and dedicated in 2017 is a sanctuary for patients and their families during the healing process where they enjoy the beauty of nature in a tranquil meditative setting.

Legacy Tree- Beautiful tree in entrance hall of hospital honoring loved ones and those supporting the Foundation . Donations from the tree help the PVCH Foundation.

Automatic Infusion Pumps that infuses fluids, medication or nutrients into a patient's circulatory system and can administer fluids in ways that would be impractically expensive or unreliable if performed manually by nursing staff.  Automatic infusion pumps simplify medication delivery and are used in ER, acute care, surgery, special nursing, and in the skilled nursing units to insure quality patient care.

GE Optima CT 660 64 Slice scanner- provided in partnership with Tax Credits and Lewis Young, honoring his late wife Pat Young. It is one of the among the world’s most energy efficient 64 slice system, providing a 60 percent cost reduction in energy use. It is a Low dose CT scanner helping reduce radiation to the patient. 

C-Arm FluoroscopyA C-arm fluoroscope is a device used by a physician to guide a needle to a specific area while watching that needle on a live x-ray screen. This equipment is used for Pain Clinic for placement of patient injection.

UPS- An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a device that protects MRI and CT electrical components from power surges.

Digital Portable X-ray Machine- Used to take to patients that are not mobile.  Pictures are instant for Doctor review.

Mechanical Ceiling Patient Lift- Mechanically lifts patients to use for Imaging.  The lift helps prevent injuries to staff and patients.

MRI-(Magnetic Resonance Imaging Machine) Wide, Short Bore, Same machine as Hays Medical, has a bigger opening for patients that suffer from claustrophobia.

Dual Head Nuclear Camera- The Nuclear Camera examines organ functions and is an instrumental part of the Pat Young Imaging Center by imaging how an organ is functioning.

Two Emergency Room Trauma Carts-These carts allow X-Ray films to be put underneath the bed which is beneficial to trauma patients by reducing movement.
