Larned Booster Club Donates Money to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness

Hannah Smith, Larned High School President was at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital today to present a check for $650.00.

The money was from the Booster Pink Out in October, 2017.  This was a project started as a community service project by a LHS student and continues each year. The money will be used in October, 2018 to bring a Breast Cancer awareness event to the community hosted in joint by PVCH and the PVCH Foundation.  “The Booster Club wanted the money to stay locally and educate the community about Breast Cancer.”  Hannah Smith, LHS Booster President.

The last event occurred in 2015 which included speakers a breast cancer survivor, a breast oncologist and a clinical exercise physiologist.  Education modules were also at the event.    “The PVCH Foundation and the Trustees are excited to team up with Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.  Brenda Langdon, Human Resources Director at PVCH spearheaded the last event and the Foundation is pleased that we are bringing this back to community due to the funds raised by the Booster Club Pink Out. “   Julie Bugner Smith- Foundation Development Coordinator.    Kendra Barker , Interim Administrator for PVCH wanted to thank the Booster Club for their donation for  making a difference to the women and men in community.  If you have a story to share about your breast cancer journey please contact the PVCH foundation julie.bugnersmith@haysmed.com.
